Our
Story

Founder Susanda Yee, a community acupuncturist with over 27 years of experience, created Canada’s first community acupuncture clinic in 2007.
Her vision was different. Instead of treating people in isolation, she created a shared healing space where people could receive acupuncture together at a price they could afford.
Over time, Six Degrees became more than a clinic.
It became a community.
Why reopen now?
Six Degrees is reopening because the need for accessible, community-based healing has never been greater.
When the clinic first opened in 2007, community acupuncture felt like a radical idea: people resting together in recliners, receiving treatment side by side. Over the years, Six Degrees became more than a clinic. It became a place where people could slow down, regulate their nervous systems, and remember they were not alone.
The pandemic closure in 2020 was heartbreaking. Like many community spaces, Six Degrees disappeared during a time when connection suddenly became difficult and fragile. Since then, I have spent years reflecting on what was lost, what people still need, and what kind of healing spaces are necessary now.
Again and again, people asked if Six Degrees would return.
Reopening now is a response to what I see every day: exhaustion, stress, chronic pain, grief, burnout, isolation, and the growing need for affordable care. More than ever, people need spaces where they can rest, reconnect, and heal in community.
Six Degrees is returning with the same mission it began with: offering accessible, effective acupuncture in a shared healing space where care feels human, grounded, and collective.
Healing happens between people. That belief is at the heart of why Six Degrees is reopening now.

About susanda.
I am the owner of Six Degrees Community Acupuncture! I started Six Degrees because I wanted lots and lots of people to experience Acupuncture treatment, with a Chinese medicine approach to understanding our body and health. Over the years, I have witnessed many people heal and transform themselves.
I want to offer this possibility to you. I want you to have the opportunity for change. To feel better in your body. Whether you want a small or big change in your life, acupuncture treatment can help. Acupuncture treatment is a way to experience our body in a different way. Coming in with a headache and then leaving without one, or a little less of one, is an example of change. Change can also mean big transformative experiences in our outlook on life. It can support us to make global changes in our life and be more of who we really are. It also means getting support to continue to do the things that work for us. It can help us get back on track. Rebalance, refocus and realign our body, mind, and spirit.

Private Acupuncture and Spinal Alignment treatments
I offer a special Acupuncture Spinal Alignment Treatment. Utilizing broader options within Chinese Medicine, I incorporate Acupuncture, cupping, moxa, spinal alignment assessment to relieve pain and correct spinal/hip/shoulder alignment. This realignment is good for aches and pains in joints and muscles, and is also effective with treating organ imbalance. When we are in better alignment our internal organs function optimally, thus reducing illness and discomfort. This option is still covered by benefits plans that cover acupuncture.
Also, I have learned much in the way of how trauma and stress are expressed through physical, emotional and spiritual pain. I believe acupuncture to be an effective treatment for healing by restoring balance to emotions, organs and vital energy.
